Driver killed, another hospitalized after crash; Extended closure in place
One person was killed, and another was hospitalized after a crash in Lancaster County on Monday, according to police. Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Marietta Avenue/Route 23 and Bridge Valley Road in West Hempfield Township at 10:22 a.m. Police said both vehicles were occupied only by the drivers. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials. Their identity has not yet been released. Police said the other driver was injured and transported to the hospital. The Lancaster County Crash Team and the coroner's office are investigating. Marietta Avenue is closed in both directions between Raintree Road and Jasmine Place.
