Driver involved in deadly January crash surrenders himself to authorities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted by police for his involvement in a deadly crash in January is out on bond after he reportedly surrendered himself to authorities this week. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Kegjhi Majors, 24, was the driver of a Chevrolet Impala that was involved in a deadly crash on Elm Hill Pike on Jan. 31. Police said Majors was driving his vehicle on Elm Hill Pike between 71 and 94 miles per hour in a 45 mile-per-hour zone when he struck the Mazda driven by 48-year-old David Lagrone. Lagrone had turned left at the intersection of Elm Hill Pike and Ermac Drive in front of Majors' Impala, according to MNPD. As a result of the crash, the Chevrolet traveled into a parking lot and grassy area before coming to a rest upside down at the bottom of a creek. Both Majors and his passenger were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were treated for injuries and later released. Lagrone was also transported to VUMC, where he died Thursday, Feb. 5, according to MNPD. Majors was charged with vehicular homicide by reckless conduct, aggravated assault, driving on a suspended license and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility. He was released on a $13,000 bond, according to MNPD.
