Driver in fatal King William crash veered off road, struck trees, and was ejected, according to troopers

In a recent incident in King William County, Virginia, a 35-year-old driver named Rafael William Smith Polanco lost his life in a tragic single-vehicle crash early on a Saturday morning. According to Sgt. Jessica B. Shehan of the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred in the 14000 block of West River Road around 4 a.m. when a Dodge Ram pickup veered off the road and collided with multiple trees. Despite the efforts of troopers, Polanco, who was ejected from the truck and was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the crash site. Following the accident, West River Road had to be temporarily closed for crash reconstruction activities as officials continue their active investigation into the incident.
