Driver in fatal crash gets indefinite sentence and loses license

A man from Depew has been sentenced to serve a term of 2 1/2 to 7 1/2 years in prison and has had his driver's license permanently revoked for causing a fatal crash in 2023, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office. The accident took place on July 24 of that year at around 5:30 a.m. on Clinton Street in West Seneca. The driver, Zachary Poisson, 34, was found to be under the influence of cocaine when he veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision that claimed the life of David Sion, 49. Poisson recently admitted to the charges, including vehicular manslaughter, after facing a potential maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
