Driver in critical condition after horse racing accident at The Meadows

A horse race at The Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in Washington County resulted in a serious accident, leaving driver Hunter Myers in critical condition. The incident involving six horses took place on Wednesday, as confirmed by track announcer Roger Huston. Myers was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Huston requested thoughts and prayers for Myers, who is reported to be receiving care for a brain injury as per family members and WJPA. Following the accident, the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association announced the cancellation of racing for the remainder of the week. Earlier in the year, a video highlighting Myers' accomplishments described him as one of the leading harness racing drivers at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. Despite attempts to obtain a comment from The Meadows by KDKA, no response has been received.
