Driver in critical condition after Grand Central Parkway crash

QUEENS (PIX11) -- Two drivers are in the hospital, one in critical condition after a crash that blocked two lanes of the Grand Central Parkway in Queens during the Wednesday morning rush, according to police. A 23-year-old man in a black 2010 Infiniti Sedan was disabled in the westbound right lane of the Grand Central Parkway at Astoria Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday when a 70-year-old driver in a black 2020 Mercedes SUV slammed into him, authorities said. Both drivers were taken to the hospital where the 23-year-old was listed in critical condition but the 70-year-old was expected to survive, officials reported. The two westbound lanes of the Grand Central Parkway remained closed through the morning rush while the investigation was underway. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
