Driver hurt in Thursday crash taken into custody by Highway Patrol

A Cherokee-Kansas teenager experienced minor injuries in a solo car accident on Missouri 171, approximately 5 miles north of Asbury, just before 10:30 pm last night. The teenager, identified as 18-year-old Jayden T. Wallace, was driving a 2001 Ford Mustang that veered off the road and flipped over. Wallace sustained minor injuries and was transported to a Carthage hospital for treatment. Following the accident, Wallace faced charges of Misdemeanor DUI-Drugs, Failure to Maintain the Right Half of the Roadway, and Operating a Non-Commercial Vehicle while using an Electronic Mobile Device. He was later processed and released.
