Driver going the wrong way detained in Colorado, accused in deaths of couple
The suspect believed to be responsible for a tragic crash on Highway 285 last month that claimed the lives of two individuals has been taken into custody. Michael Colson, aged 33, was arrested in connection with the incident that occurred near Highway 8, west of C470, on July 21. Charges against Colson include multiple counts of vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving in the wrong direction on a divided highway. The collision involved three separate cars and resulted in the deaths of Michael and Debbie Carman. The Colorado State Patrol determined that the crash was caused by an Acura RL driver, later identified as Colson, traveling in the wrong direction and colliding with two vehicles, causing fatal injuries to the Carmans.
