Driver gets 20-year sentence for deadly car accident
In Memphis, Tennessee, a man has been given a 20-year prison sentence, a year after authorities stated he caused a deadly accident while driving under the influence of alcohol. Connor Milhorn, age 20, admitted guilt on Monday to aggravated DUI charges related to the death of one individual and serious injury to a minor child. The incident occurred on May 11, 2024, when National Park Service Rangers responded to a collision involving a Hummer H3 and a Toyota Tundra. Tragically, the driver of the Tundra was found deceased, and the driver's minor child was gravely injured. The child was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis for urgent medical attention. The investigation revealed that Milhorn was speeding and intoxicated while driving on the Natchez Trace Parkway, resulting in the fatal crash. U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner remarked, "No amount of time behind bars can restore the loss suffered by the victim's family due to the defendant's reckless decision to drink and drive." Following the hard work of law enforcement, including the National Park Service Rangers, and prosecutors, justice has been served with a 20-year prison term for Milhorn, along with 5 years of supervised release.
