Driver from Nixa faces DWI charge after deadly Stone County accident
A man from Nixa is facing serious charges after a tragic accident in Stone County that resulted in the death of a 51-year-old woman. Randy Lee Buchanan, born in 1971, has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated, which caused the woman's death. Additionally, he is facing a misdemeanor charge for operating a motorcycle without a valid license for such operation. Reports state that the Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to a crash involving a motorcycle in a roundabout. Buchanan admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana before driving, and authorities found these substances in his possession. Sadly, the woman riding with him on the motorcycle passed away in the hospital. Buchanan is currently in the Stone County Jail with a bond set at $500,000 and could potentially face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.
