Driver facing charges for deadly hit-and-run to appear in court
A woman from Lowell, Massachusetts, will appear in court on Tuesday following an alleged hit-and-run incident that resulted in a pedestrian's death last week. Channa Sath, 44, faces charges of leaving the scene of a collision involving injury or fatality. The tragic event occurred on Chelmsford Street around 11:55 p.m. on October 30, where the victim was struck by a vehicle and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The vehicle involved initially fled the scene but was later located after authorities released images of a gray or dark SUV sought in connection with the incident. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to assist the victim, as captured on video footage. The case is currently being investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Lowell Police Department.
