Driver faces trial for deadly Oconomowoc lawn tractor collision
A man facing trial is accused of fatally striking an Oconomowoc man on a lawn tractor and leaving the scene. The collision occurred near Orchard Circle and Allen Road, resulting in the death of 87-year-old Allan Eighmy. At a recent court hearing, Oconomowoc police detective Christopher Moss provided detailed information about the incident. It was revealed that the suspected driver, Matthew Brennecke, allegedly hit Eighmy while driving a black SUV and then fled the scene. Brennecke reportedly explained that he left because he lacked insurance. Police discovered Brennecke's involvement by locating car parts at the site and identifying his license plate in surveillance footage. The court commissioner remarked on the serious nature of the offense, noting that Brennecke may have committed a felony.
