Driver faces DWI charges after fatal accident in Portales

Unfortunately, the driver of one vehicle, 60-year-old Monica Diaz of Portales, passed away due to her injuries. The other driver, 25-year-old Sebastian Torres Gonzales of Portales, was also injured and taken to a hospital in Lubbock. An arrest warrant has been issued for Torres Gonzales on charges of homicide by vehicle resulting from Driving While Intoxicated. The crash occurred as Torres Gonzales, traveling at a high speed southbound on Chicago, crossed the median and collided with the other vehicle.
