Driver faces DWI charge in St. Peters motorcycle crash that led to death of 4-year-old.

A man in St. Charles County, Missouri has been charged with driving while intoxicated in connection with a tragic St. Peters motorcycle accident that took the life of a four-year-old boy. The incident occurred nearly three months ago, and the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office recently announced the charges against Mark McCarthy, which also include driving while revoked/suspended and other vehicle-related offenses. The crash happened on March 30, when McCarthy was allegedly operating the motorcycle with the young victim improperly seated in front of him. Authorities say McCarthy was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. St. Charles Prosecuting Attorney Joseph G. McCulloch emphasized that McCarthy's decision to drive while intoxicated caused the child's death, and McCarthy is being held accountable for his actions. McCarthy is currently in custody for an unrelated matter with the Missouri Department of Corrections, and his bond in the DWI case has been set at $350,000.
