
Driver faces DUI charges following rollover crash in Wethersfield.
Two individuals passed away and a man was arrested following a rollover accident on Friday night on Route 5 and 15 in Wethersfield, CT, as reported by state police. The crash occurred just before midnight near Exit 85, according to fire officials. State police indicated that the car inexplicably swerved from the left lane, hit a metal beam guardrail, rolled over, and went down an embankment. After searching the wooded area, two occupants identified as Joshua Gonzalez, 25, of Springfield, and Edwin Abraham Guzman, 21, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, were found outside the vehicle with severe injuries. They were taken to Hartford Hospital where they later passed away. The driver of the vehicle, Alexis Garcia, 22, from Springfield, Massachusetts, displayed signs of impairment and did not pass a field sobriety test conducted by state police. Garcia was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and is being held on a $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on Monday.
