Driver expelled in blazing I-94 collision struck by another vehicle
A driver was involved in a serious traffic accident on I-94 in Detroit where he was ejected from his car and then hit by another vehicle. The man, a 23-year-old, sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at a nearby hospital, according to Michigan State Police. The crash occurred when the man's Dodge Magnum overturned on the westbound side of I-94 at Concorde, leading to a fire. Authorities noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown onto the right lane where he was struck by a potentially maroon Ford Escape. MSP officials emphasized the importance of wearing seat belts for safety, stressing that it is not only the law but also a critical measure to protect oneself. MSP F/Lt. Mike Shaw urged all drivers and passengers to buckle up whenever they are in a vehicle, as it significantly increases the chances of survival in case of an accident.
