Driver detained for suspected DUI in fatal motorcycle accident in northwest Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, tragedy struck as a motorcyclist, named Joshua Yokley, aged 43, lost his life in a collision involving a driver suspected of driving under the influence. The incident occurred in the northwestern part of the city on Monday afternoon. The Las Vegas Metropolitan police reported that Yokley was riding along Lone Mountain Road close to Rainbow Boulevard when a car turned from the Santa Fe Hotel and Casino parking lot onto the road, striking him. Regrettably, Yokley passed away at the hospital. The driver, identified as Edward Dukes, aged 28, displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for DUI-related charges. Dukes is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 8. The motorcyclist's death marks the 50th traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
