Driver crashes into car after jumping curb during chase

A driver in Memphis, Tennessee, has been injured and is facing charges after allegedly leading troopers on a chase and colliding with another vehicle in Frayser on Friday morning. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident began when they attempted to pull over a Ford Focus on Interstate 240 around 11 a.m. The driver of the Ford Focus reportedly refused to stop, prompting a chase. During the pursuit, the Ford Focus veered over a curb at the corner of North Watkins Street and Whitney Avenue, striking a Honda CR-V. Fortunately, the Honda driver suffered no injuries. The driver of the Ford Focus, identified as 27-year-old Jelissa Smith, sustained injuries and is now facing charges including driving with a suspended license, felony evading, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, lack of insurance, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
