Driver convicted for causing deadly collision on I-275 in 2023

A man involved in a tragic triple-fatal car crash in Anderson Township back in 2023 has now received his sentencing. Andrew Blankenship, aged 30, entered a guilty plea on Tuesday for various charges, including aggravated murder and aggravated vehicular assault. Judge Robert Ruhleman has ruled for Blankenship to serve 18-21 years in prison, in addition to a lifetime suspension of his driver's license and an inability to seek judicial release. The devastating incident occurred on April 7, 2023, at around 9:27 p.m., when the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal crash on 275 eastbound near the 5 Mile and New Richmond exits. The collision resulted from a blue Dodge pickup truck speeding without headlights, losing control, and crashing into a stopped car assisting another disabled vehicle in the emergency lane, ultimately causing a chain reaction involving a tow truck driver outside his vehicle. Tragically, two individuals died at the scene, and another passed away at the hospital; they were identified as Keith Skaggs, Janaya Glover, and Richard Glaser. John Glover sustained injuries in the crash. During the sentencing, family members shared heartfelt testimonies, while Blankenship expressed regret, seeking forgiveness and expressing shame for his actions. The court acknowledged the 718 days Blankenship has already served, factoring this time into his overall sentence.
