Driver charged in Racine crash linked to deadly hit-and-run
In Racine, a young woman named Shamya Anderson, who has never held a driver's license, is facing charges after allegedly causing a fatal pedestrian accident last year and has now been accused of being involved in a crash with a city bus that injured 11 people. The victim's sister, Tamara Carr, is seeking justice for her deceased brother and is devastated by the loss. Following her previous charges related to the hit-and-run incident, Anderson was released on bond but allegedly violated her bond conditions by driving recklessly in the recent crash. Despite not having a valid driver's license, she was behind the wheel with three children in the car during the collision. The court has set her bond at $500,000 and emphasized that she is not allowed to drive under any circumstances. Anderson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next week.
