
Driver charged in crash killing 3 adults, 5 kids after following van too closely
Authorities in Georgia have arrested a 33-year-old semitrailer driver, Kane Aaron Hammock, in connection with a tragic crash on Interstate 85 near Atlanta. The collision, which claimed the lives of three adults and five children in a van, resulted in Hammock being charged with multiple counts including vehicular homicide. Additionally, one person in the van may have been pregnant, but official confirmation is pending further examination. The incident, which led to a chain reaction involving four other vehicles, also affected a van from an animal rescue organization, with some cats escaping and others sustaining injuries. An investigation is ongoing by both the Georgia State Patrol and the National Transportation Safety Board.
