Driver arrested in deadly crash in Collier County.
The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested Ascencio Joker Rodriguez, an 18-year-old accused of vehicular homicide and reckless driving following a crash on June 12th in Immokalee, Collier County. According to troopers, the incident occurred at 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Whidden Loop Road. Rodriguez was allegedly driving a Ford Fusion at speeds exceeding 90 MPH on Corkscrew Road when he veered across the center line and collided with a dump truck. The collision resulted in serious injuries to Rodriguez and his 25-year-old passenger from Immokalee, who was later hospitalized and tragically succumbed to their injuries.
