Driver arrested for DUI after fatal crash with female pedestrian in Huntington Beach

Over the weekend in Huntington Beach, a tragic incident occurred where a woman lost her life after being hit by a vehicle. The driver, who remained at the scene, was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while under the influence. The collision happened around 6 p.m. on Saturday close to the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Crailet Drive, as reported by Corbin Carson, a spokesperson for the Huntington Beach Police Department. The victim was struck by a white Toyota RAV4 traveling north on Brookhurst and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver, a 62-year-old man from Costa Mesa, was unhurt and complied with authorities. He was later arrested, with authorities noting the involvement of impairment in the incident.
