Driver arrested at Oakland Airport after being accused in deadly Hayward pedestrian accident

A man was arrested at Oakland International Airport last week in connection to a deadly pedestrian-vehicle collision in Hayward. Kelvin Leovander, 36, was taken into custody on April 4 for voluntary manslaughter and felony hit and run resulting in the death of 26-year-old Lydia Guerra of Hayward. The incident occurred on Feb. 10 at the intersection of Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue. Guerra was pronounced deceased at a hospital after sustaining major injuries in the collision. Leovander was initially detained at the scene and later arrested after further investigation. He was subsequently released pending further details in the case.
