Driver and two kids dead after Ohio collision with tractor-trailer, third kid seriously injured
LUCASVILLE, Ohio (WOWK) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating after a two-vehicle crash in Pike County took the lives of three people, including two kids, Monday afternoon. OSHP said in a release that the crash was reported around 1:56 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 32 and Coal Dock Road in Union Township. Ohio Latest News: According to the preliminary investigation, a vehicle driven by Hannah N. Howard, 30, of Beaver, was traveling north on Coal Dock Road when her vehicle failed to yield at the intersection, resulting in her vehicle being struck by a tractor-trailer pulling an empty logging trailer travelling west on SR-32. Howard and two of her three passengers — Gunner Howard, 9, Beaver, and Peyton Howard,5, Beaver — suffered fatal injuries. The third passenger, a four-year-old, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was reportedly not injured. OSHP is investigating the incident. OSHP was assisted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, MedFlight, Stockdale Fire Department, Beaver Fire Department, Ports Atomic Plant Emergency Services, Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service, Pike County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation and Gahm’s Wrecker & Crane Service.
