Driver admits guilt in deadly Harrisburg toy store crash
In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ricardo Contreras-Cordero has admitted guilt for crashing his vehicle into a toy store last year, resulting in the death of another individual. Records show that he pleaded guilty to murder in the third degree, homicide by vehicle while under the influence, and homicide by vehicle on August 20. Judge Deborah Curcillo then sentenced Contreras-Cordero to 5-10 years in prison for the murder charge, 3-6 years for the homicide by vehicle charge, and three years of probation for the other homicide by vehicle charge. The incident occurred on October 6, 2024, when Contreras-Cordero was speeding and collided with the Treasure Trove Toy Store on 2nd Street, causing the death of 68-year-old Eusebio Forestier. His blood-alcohol concentration was recorded at .135 during the crash, which also resulted in significant damage to the store and left Contreras-Cordero critically injured.
