Driver accused of leaving deadly Brisbane accident to go to work makes plea

A Burlingame man accused in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a Lodi woman in Brisbane earlier this year faced charges on Tuesday, as reported by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. Hector Daniel De La Torre Jiminez, 37, allegedly fled the crash site and went to work in Atherton after the March 24 incident. In court, he pleaded not guilty to a range of felony charges, including vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death. The collision claimed the life of 59-year-old Rosa Maria Baez, who was driving to work when her vehicle was struck by a red-light runner. Torre Jiminez, identified as the driver of the Tahoe involved, fled the scene but was later traced to his workplace by investigators. He remains free on certain conditions as he awaits a pretrial conference scheduled for December 15.
