Driver accused of causing fatal crash into Detroit furniture store

A woman from Detroit has been accused of causing a crash that resulted in the deaths of two passengers when she collided with a furniture store. The incident occurred near Gratiot Avenue and French Road. The victims were identified as 39-year-old Catone Scott and 39-year-old Jashaunda Scott. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Micah Simone Abby-Willis, was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash. Abby-Willis is facing multiple charges including Second-Degree Murder, Operating While Intoxicated causing death, Reckless Driving causing death, and Driving with a license suspended, revoked, or denied causing death. She was given a $200,000 cash/surety bond and placed on a GPS tether. An alcohol tether was also added at a re-determination hearing. Abby-Willis is scheduled to appear in court later this month and could potentially face life in prison if found guilty.
