
Driver accused of causing deadly hit-and-run collision with cyclist in Pinewood, MDSO reports
A 45-year-old Miami man was recently apprehended by authorities for his involvement in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a cyclist. Michelson Jeancy is facing legal charges, including leaving the accident scene and tampering with evidence, as reported by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. The tragic incident occurred towards the evening of Monday, August 25, in the vicinity of Northwest 119th Street near Opa-locka when Jeancy's 2013 Honda Civic collided with the cyclist. The impact was severe, leading to the victim's immediate passing, confirmed by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Despite fleeing the scene, Jeancy was located and arrested after evidence connected him to the crash, including surveillance footage. Jeancy provided a confession post his arrest and is now in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK).
