Driver accused in accident that resulted in the deaths of 2 Marquette lacrosse players

A 39-year-old woman from West Allis is facing serious charges after being accused of driving under the influence and causing a collision that led to the deaths of two Marquette University lacrosse players in downtown Milwaukee. Amandria J. Brunner has been charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle due to a previous intoxication-related conviction. The incident took place on Sept. 5 at the intersection of North 27th Street and West St. Paul Avenue. According to reports, Brunner made a left turn on a yellow light in her Ford Ranger and collided with a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying members of the Marquette lacrosse team, resulting in the tragic deaths of Noah Snyder, 20, and Scott Michaud, 19. The complaint states that surveillance footage revealed Brunner accelerating into the intersection as the light turned yellow, with no signs of braking. Further investigation showed her blood alcohol content was 0.133 and she displayed signs of impairment at the scene. Brunner, who had a prior DUI conviction from 2003, could face up to 40 years in prison for each of the felony charges if found guilty.
