
Downtown Los Angeles crash involves alleged drunk driver hitting car and pedestrians
A man is currently in police custody after reportedly running a red light in downtown Los Angeles while under the influence of drugs or alcohol on Sunday morning, resulting in multiple people being hospitalized. The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the incident took place just before 3 a.m. near the L.A. Convention Center. A man driving a white pick-up truck was headed east on Venice Boulevard when he disregarded a red light at the intersection with Grand Avenue, colliding with a southbound SUV carrying four women. The impact caused the white truck to veer onto the sidewalk, hitting two pedestrians before crashing into a building and catching fire. Five individuals were taken to a local hospital, with one in critical condition and the other four in stable condition as of Sunday morning. The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. Further details about the incident have not been provided yet.
