Downtown LA chase suspect collides with car, overturns

A high-speed chase in downtown Los Angeles involving a stolen truck culminated in a collision with another vehicle, resulting in it flipping over. The driver of the white pickup truck traveled recklessly through the streets of DTLA on Friday morning, reaching speeds of up to 83 mph. Law enforcement officials from the Los Angeles Police Department transitioned from pursuing the suspect to tracking them due to their erratic driving behavior. The stolen truck driver crashed into an SUV at the intersection of Trinity Street and East Washington Boulevard, causing it to overturn in a sunken lot. Following the crash, the suspect driver was apprehended by the police. Emergency responders transported the injured victim from the overturned SUV to the hospital, and the extent of her injuries remains unknown. The owner of the stolen truck arrived at the scene and mentioned that his truck, stolen the previous week along with his tools, was now recovered but severely damaged. The pursuit, initiated by the LAPD at 7:22 a.m. near Wall and 5th Street, concluded at 7:28 a.m. Maintenance worker Shelby Hazelett, left with his work truck destroyed, expressed concern about how he would commute and carry out his job responsibilities.
