Downtown Denver traffic disrupted by demolition incident
The historic building on the corner of Lincoln Street and 7th Avenue in Denver, standing for over 50 years, is currently being dismantled. Some parts of the building landed in unintended places during demolition, causing disruptions. Denver resident Eric Mandel expressed mixed feelings about the demolition, noting the building's long-standing presence and its architectural style. A section of the building fell onto a construction vehicle, narrowly avoiding traffic on 7th Street and resulting in the closure of the eastbound lanes. Some residents, like Mandel, hope for new commercial developments in the area, while others, like Tim Black, lament the loss of neighborhood character and wished for the building to be repurposed. Despite efforts to contact the company overseeing the demolition for clarification, no response has been received.
