Double fatality in collision caused by suspect running a red light: authorities
A tragic incident occurred in South Phoenix resulting in the loss of two lives due to a collision that caused both vehicles to catch fire. The devastating crash, which took place in the early hours of Nov. 22 at the intersection of Central Avenue and Baseline Road, was caused by a driver running a red light. Law enforcement officers witnessed the speeding suspect's car causing a fiery collision with another vehicle at the light rail platform. Unfortunately, both occupants of the second vehicle lost their lives. The suspect, who is believed to have been impaired, sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized.
