Doctor tells Rishabh Pant after car accident: 'Limb loss risk'
The return of Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant to the cricket field following a serious car accident has been hailed as an inspiring story in the world of sports. In December 2022, Pant was involved in a crash that left many uncertain about his future in the game. However, through nearly two years of diligent rehabilitation, Pant made a remarkable comeback and is now back to his century-scoring form on the cricket field. Recently, Pant showcased his talent by scoring two centuries in the first Test match against England at Headingley, becoming only the second wicket-keeper in cricket history to achieve this milestone. Despite Pant's impressive display, India ultimately lost the match by 5 wickets. Nevertheless, his recent performances are a testament to his remarkable recovery from the life-threatening accident. Following the crash, Pant faced severe injuries such as a dislocated right knee, ankle injury, and significant skin damage. Fortunately, he was treated promptly by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who shared the emotional and physical challenges Pant endured after the accident. Pant's determination to return to the sport was evident when he asked Dr. Pardiwala if he would be able to play again before undergoing surgery in Mumbai. Pant's accident occurred while he was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee for New Year celebrations. The crash resulted in a serious injury, but timely assistance from locals and subsequent medical care saved his life. After undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Pant has now successfully resumed his cricketing career and looks to be in top form once again.
