Dirt bike rider critically hurt in east side hit-and-run crash
A dirt bike rider was seriously injured late Thursday night after a crash on Columbus’ East Side. Investigators are now looking for the driver of a car that left the scene. At approximately 11:45 p.m., an adult was riding a red GasGas dirt bike southbound on South Grant Avenue as a silver car traveled westbound down East Livingston Avenue. According to police, the two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and the dirt bike rider lost control, left the south side of the roadway and was ejected from the bike. The rider was transported to a local hospital in critical condition for treatment, but was later upgraded to stable condition. The driver silver car immediately left the scene of the crash. The Accident Investigation Unit is still investigating the incident.
