Detroit teenager sent to higher court for deadly accident that took lives of two children's father
A 16-year-old from Detroit has been transferred to circuit court after allegedly being involved in a police pursuit that resulted in a tragic crash, causing the death of a father of two from Michigan. The teen is facing various charges, including second-degree murder, related to the incident that occurred on July 12 in Macomb County. It is claimed that the youth stole a vehicle and led officers on a high-speed chase in Roseville before colliding with the vehicle of 28-year-old Alex Habib from Madison Heights in Warren. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido emphasized the importance of accountability, regardless of age, stating that justice must prevail. Lucido expressed his desire for legislators to present bills addressing individuals who try to escape from law enforcement, highlighting the dangers they pose to innocent lives. The teen is scheduled to appear in circuit court for arraignment on November 17.
