Detectives search for witnesses and footage from fatal I-90 accident in Fall City, WA.
Authorities are requesting assistance from the public in identifying witnesses and gathering video evidence related to a tragic hit-and-run incident that occurred on Thursday on westbound I-90 near Fall City. Washington State Patrol officials are particularly interested in footage showing a black Toyota Sequoia prior to the accident or capturing the collision itself, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who was crossing the freeway. On June 19 around 12:20 p.m., the WSP received reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the westbound I-90 between SR 18 and the Preston exit. The black Toyota Sequoia involved struck the pedestrian on the left shoulder and proceeded to drive westbound until it was disabled near the Preston exit. Authorities were able to establish a connection between the disabled red vehicle on the right shoulder in the vicinity of the collision and the victim. Following the collision, the driver of the Toyota Sequoia attempted to carjack a white pickup truck, but after being unable to do so, climbed into the bed of the truck. The suspect was eventually apprehended by WSP troopers after an altercation. Anyone with information or video footage relevant to the incident is urged to contact WSP detectives via email at [email protected] or [email protected].
