The fatal crash occurred on August 12th near Mile Marker 171 in Fort Pierce. Dashcam footage captured the moment when the truck driver attempted an illegal U-turn, resulting in a collision with a minivan that claimed the lives of three individuals. DeSantis expressed concern over the driver's demeanor at the time of the crash during a recent news conference. He criticized California for issuing commercial driver's licenses to undocumented individuals and called on Congress to address the issue. The driver, Harjinder Singh, faces charges of vehicular homicide and immigration violations. Attorney General James Uthmeier emphasized the importance of holding Singh accountable under the law before deportation proceedings can take place.
