Deputy rescues victim in intense head-on crash
Deputy Charles Yeh from Fayette County recounts his experience as a witness to a severe accident and how he quickly came to the aid of the innocent victim. Yeh vividly recalls seeing a dust cloud forming and then witnessing a red object speeding across his field of vision before a chaotic collision ensued. This incident was captured on the dash camera of his patrol car, showing a red Ford Mustang veering across a grassy median to collide head-on with an SUV. The footage also captures the innocent driver's car gradually emerging from traffic ahead of Deputy Yeh and rolling backwards into the median. He wasted no time in rushing to help the injured driver, who was struggling to open the damaged door and experiencing breathing difficulties and chest pains. Yeh managed to comfort her until emergency services arrived promptly on the scene. Months later, the thankful victim visited the sheriff's office to express her gratitude, surprising Yeh with flowers and donuts that he shared with his fellow colleagues. Yeh, who had already responded to four other accidents that day, reflected on how situations like these are not uncommon in his line of duty.
