Deputy from Jefferson County Faces Assault Charges in Multi-Car Collision
A sheriff's deputy from Jefferson County who was involved in a multiple-vehicle collision in early October has been charged for her part in the accident. According to court records, Shamonte Lanfair, a resident of Birmingham, has been charged with two counts of assault. The incident occurred on October 8th and resulted in injuries to several individuals. Reports indicate that Lanfair was allegedly intoxicated when her vehicle collided with another, leading to a chain reaction. Following her arrest, Lanfair was held on a $30,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail, but has since been released.
