Deputy from Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office killed in accident
A Deputy from the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office tragically lost his life in a collision with a semi-truck while on duty on Tuesday afternoon, July 8. Deputy Antonio Aleman, who had been with the Sheriff's Office since April 2021, was involved in the crash on Interstate 10 near the Avenida De Mesilla exit. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he passed away at MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces. Deputy Aleman, 33, is survived by his wife and two children. The Sheriff's Office expressed their appreciation to the collaborating agencies involved in providing support during this difficult time. Plans for Officer Aleman's final services will be announced at a later date, with DASO personnel accompanying him until his burial.
