Deputies: Man dies in crash near Cedar Springs
ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 61-year-old man died in a single car crash in Algoma Township on Tuesday morning, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a crash on Algoma Avenue near 17 Mile Road at around 11 a.m. and said the man was traveling south when his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree. The man was conscious and alert at first, but pinned inside the vehicle, deputies say. He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. As of Tuesday, it is unclear if the man died from injuries suffered during the crash, or if another medical issue caused him to drive off the road, according to deputies. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
