Defense lawyer in deadly drunk driving case seeks to exclude blood test results
The lawyer representing Walter Bolt, who is facing charges related to a fatal crash that occurred in March, has filed a motion to exclude blood evidence collected from his client after the incident. The attorney argues that the blood was not obtained in accordance with state law and the warrant for the blood draw was inadequate. Bolt is currently held on a $250,000 bond and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide. The defense contends that the details surrounding the blood collection process, including the handling of medical records and the chain of custody, do not comply with state regulations. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 9, with a trial set for July 14. The prosecution has not yet responded to the motion.
