Deer causes collision involving 3 vehicles on Maine Turnpike
A deer caused a chain reaction accident on the Maine Turnpike on Tuesday evening, as reported by the police. At around 7 p.m. at mile marker 13 in York, a car collided with a deer in the center lane, initiating the pile-up. Fortunately, the car driver was able to exit safely, but the vehicle remained immobile. Subsequently, a fuel-carrying commercial vehicle struck the car, forcing it into the median. This impact resulted in the commercial vehicle hitting another car to its right, causing both to veer off the road. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported among those involved, though sadly the deer did not survive. The emergency response involved multiple agencies including the Maine State Police, Wells Fire Department, York Police Department, the Maine Turnpike Authority, National Wrecker Service, and Troop K Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
