Death of 'Sleeping Prince' in Saudi Arabia after 2 decades in coma

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud, also known as "The Sleeping Prince," passed away at the age of 36 after being in a coma for more than 20 years following a car accident in London. Despite efforts by his family and medical experts, he never fully regained consciousness. He sustained serious injuries from the crash while in London for military college, which led to brain hemorrhaging. His father, Khalid bin Talal Al-Saud, a senior member of the Saudi royal family, remained dedicated to his care, resisting suggestions to disconnect life support. Although a video in 2020 briefly kindled hope for his recovery when Al-Waleed responded to a woman's greeting, a full recovery sadly didn't occur. His father announced his passing on social media, sparking a wave of condolences online. Funeral services for the prince will commence on Sunday.
