Death of one of two pedestrians injured in Friday's accident
Sadly, one of the pedestrians critically injured in a Friday night incident in Ames has passed away. The accident occurred at the Bloomington and Grand Avenue intersection around 7:50 p.m., and the Ames Police Department responded to reports of the collision. Both pedestrians were hit by a car, leading to one fatality and the other being airlifted to a Des Moines hospital. The circumstances are under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
