Death of Nurse Suzie Smith in Sacramento Helicopter Crash
Unfortunately, one of the three crew members injured in a medical helicopter crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento has passed away at the hospital. The crew member was Susan "Suzie" Smith, a nurse from Redding who was working for REACH Air Medical Services. She died on Friday evening, surrounded by loved ones. The helicopter crashed on eastbound Highway 50, just east of Stockton Boulevard, for reasons still unknown. The other two injured crew members, Pilot Chad Millward and Paramedic Margaret "DeDe" Davis, are in critical but stable condition. Smith's husband, RJ Smith, shared on Facebook that she will continue to help others through organ donation. REACH Air Medical Services expressed deep sorrow over Smith's passing and praised her for her decades-long career as a nurse. Smith's impact and compassionate care will be remembered and felt for years to come.
