Death of forklift operator at facility due to workplace incident
A tragic workplace accident at the WinCo Distribution Center in Woodburn has resulted in the death of an Independence man identified as Christopher Ryan De Jesus. Woodburn police reported that the incident occurred when a forklift operator was in a container that moved with a semi-truck, causing the forklift to fall. The forklift operator died at the scene, while the semi-truck driver is cooperating with authorities. Both individuals were working for third-party contractors at the distribution center.
