Death of 71-year-old worker trapped under machinery in Massachusetts cranberry bog
A tragic incident occurred at a cranberry bog in Cape Cod, resulting in the death of a 71-year-old man on Friday morning. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was working at the bog located behind County Road in Bourne, Massachusetts when an accident took place. According to officials, the man was using equipment at the cranberry bogs when it overturned and trapped him underneath it around 8 a.m. Despite efforts from officers and paramedics to perform CPR, the man unfortunately passed away. Both state and local authorities, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident. The medical examiner's office has also been involved in the investigation. "The Bourne Police Department's thoughts are with the victim's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time," stated the police.
